⚠️ Rugby Round-Up ⚠️

✅ 1XV extend unbeaten run to go within 1 point of top position in the Lancashire Rugby ADM Div 1

Final Score: Ormskirk 25 - 7 Man Medics

1XV Coach Steven Ekuor added this following the fixture:

"A good game for the lads today, grinding out a bonus point win against the in form league leaders. Man Medics were evidently missing a couple of lads so testament to them for putting up a great fight."

"We were solid in defence for 75 minutes, and were unlucky to concede a try. Our attacking systems need some tweeking but other than that I was very pleased. In the last 8 league games we've conceded an average of 8 points a game which is pretty solid. So attack attack attack this week in training"

"Burnley away is going to be another difficult fixture but our target never changes. Bonus point win and clean sheet in every fixture. We'll need to go there strong, well drilled, and ready for a battle. A bonus point win heading into Christmas break will do a lot for us. 1 point behind Wigan in top spot now, and they travel to Thornton for a difficult fixture too. All to play for!"

🚨 Undefeated St Edwards pile pressure on Ormskirk as the ducks continue in their fight for survival

Final Score: St Edwards 55 - 0 Ormskirk

2XV Coach Alex Lambie Jnr added this:

"A frustrating defeat in awful conditions, Ormskirk 2XV were given a lesson in counter attacking rugby by the undefeated St Edwards Old Boys. The home team pounced on Kirk’s lack of support at breakdowns to turnover the ball and counter attacked with great pace and accuracy."

"Kirk dominated the scrums and lineouts but couldn’t build from the great set pieces the forwards had fought so hard to win. St Edwards OB showed us just what training twice a week can do with great organisation and skill on show."

"We have great potential in our team, a good training week ahead before our final game of 2018 at home to Widnes. Hopefully finish 2018 on a big high."

🚨 Ladies lose out on a tough battle against in form Littleborough ladies

Final Score: Ormskirk 15 - 55 Littleborough Ladies

Coach Andrew Evans added this:

"Another great display by the ladies who were up against it following a host of cry offs early morning Sunday - nothing to do with hangovers apparently"

"All joking aside we had some great phases today but unfortunately for us Littleborough just had a bit more in the tank and were more disciplined in their attack. It was great to see a strong contingent from the University down both playing and watching, and we hope to continue to build strong links with them"

"Proud to have fielded a side again like we have for every game this season. We go into the Christmas break in 6th place and I have every confidence we'll start the new year with a bang"

The 1XV host league leaders Manchester Medics RUFC with just two bonus points separating them from our very own In third place

Medics haven’t been beaten since 8th September whilst Ormskirk haven’t been beaten since the 15th of September, their last defeat away at the same opponents

Ormskirk, much improved since then, have taken some serious strides and with the introduction of two young signings from the colts set up, today is shaping up to be a different tale.

Kick off 2.15pm. All support welcome

The 2XV make the short trip up to St Edwards Old Boys and with a record of 8 from 8, the ducks will have to be on their best form to take a scalp.

That being said it’s been a great season for our lads so far and again with some youthful introductions and their very own coach in the shape of Alex Lambie, it’s game on!

Kick off 2.15pm. All away support welcome

Finally the ladies host the In form Littleborough tomorrow. Our ladies have vastly improved year on year the past few seasons and Are now in a position where they are fulfilling and competing in every fixture.

With a host of new faces being shown the ropes by the older heads, spirits are high in the ladies camp and they will fancy themselves to go well tomorrow

Kick off: 2pm Green Lane

Elsewhere it’s Christmas party time tonight from 6.30pm. All welcome

£7 entry (includes food, quiz, Dj and raffle!)
